What's good for our reefs can also be great for your skin

Our Mission

To restore marine ecosystems by transforming invasive species and marine pests into premium, sustainable products that deliver measurable environmental and consumer benefits.

Our Vision

Regenerative industries that turn ecological challenges into long-term economic and environmental value.

What We Do

  • Harvest invasive seaweed and sea urchin through responsible wild-harvest teams and partnerships.
  • Process biomass using proprietary freeze-drying methods preserving bioactive potency.
  • Supply premium cosmetic-grade bioactive extracts to manufacturers.
  • Partner with reef restoration programmes to create environmental value.

Functional bioactives from the sea.

Our ingredients are sourced, processed, and verified in-house — from the ocean floor to the formulation bench. This full supply chain ownership means unmatched quality, provenance, and a sustainability story that holds up to scrutiny.

Undaria Pinnatifida Extract (Wakame Seaweed)

Wakame is one of the world's most ecologically destructive invasive seaweeds. In Australian waters it outcompetes native algae and smothers reef habitats. By harvesting it commercially, we actively suppress its spread while producing one of the most bioactive-rich skincare ingredients available.

Our Undaria P. extract is freeze-dried — a critical advantage over air-dried alternatives. Freeze-drying locks in the seaweed's full spectrum of bioactives, including fucoidan, alginates, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. The result is an extract that performs consistently in formulations and supports strong efficacy claims.

Our Undaria P. Extract is available now on a B2B basis and has been approved for use at New Directions, one of Australia's leading cosmetic contract manufacturers. A consumer skincare range built around this extract launches in Spring/Summer 2026/27.

We don't just talk about sustainability — we prove it.

ROPA — Regenerative OceanProducts Australia — was founded on a single conviction: that the answer to some of our most pressing environmental problems is already in the ocean, waiting to be turned into a solution. We harvest invasive seaweed(Undaria pinnatifida / Wakame) and sea urchin (Centrostephanus rodgersii) from Australian coastal waters — two species that are devastating native marine ecosystems — and transform them into high-performance bioactive ingredients for cosmetics, skincare, and personal care. Every product sold is underpinned by verified removal of invasive biomass from Australian waters. It’s not a marketing claim. It's how our supply chain works.

The people behind ORA.

Henry Cole Founder & CEO

Henry has spent over a decade at the frontier of offshore aquaculture and marine operations, including as Head of Offshore Operations for Victoria's first commercial seaweed farm. He founded ROPA on the conviction that Australia's most damaging invasive species are also its most untapped resource - and has built the company from the ground up, from harvest permits to lab to brand.

Dr. Louis Sisk Chief Medical Officer / Director

BSc(Hons), MBChB, MRCS(Glasg), MTraumaA doctor, digital health founder, and lifelong sailor, Louis brings clinical rigour to ROPA's R&D. He leads our compliance and safety frameworks, ensuring every product claim is evidence-backed from the start.

Julian Cocks Extraction & Production Manager

Julian has built and run large-scale seaweed operations from the ground up. In Tasmania, he managed commercial hatchery through to processing, then went on to design and deliver a $1M R&D facility dedicated to advancing cultivation and extraction techniques for Asparagopsis. He brings the same systems-level thinking to ROPA's extraction and production programme.

Anam Dehlvi Abdullah Head of Skincare

Anam is a cosmetic formulation specialist with over ten years of experience across active-led skincare, stability testing, texture engineering, and clean-beauty innovation. She previously founded India's first modern Unani-inspired skincare brand and led the development of a full science-backed product range. At ROPA, she leads the formulation and development of our consumer and B2B product lines.

André Silva
Marine Scientist

André holds a Master's in Marine Biology and a Diploma of Project Management, with extensive field experience in seaweed aquaculture, seagrass restoration, and scientific diving across Australia and Europe. He brings both the scientific rigour and the hands-on operational ability to bridge ROPA's marine and lab activities — from offshore harvest to protocol development.

Dr. Hugo Scharfenstein Marine Biologist

Hugo is a marine biologist at CSIRO's Australian National Algae Culture Collection, where he applies climate-resilient approaches to marine restoration. His PhD focused on coral reef restoration, and he now leads research into the restoration of giant kelp forests across southeast Australia - making him one of the country's foremost voices on the ecosystems ROPA's operations directly support.

Marine innovation for advanced skincare

ORA develops bioactive marine extracts through marine restoration, combining scientific innovation with responsible sourcing to deliver hydration, barrier support, and antioxidant protection.
